The Joe DeWaele Memorial Foundation is excited to share the news about our 4th Annual Joe14 Golf Classic, set to take place at the prestigious Queen’s Harbour Yacht & Country Club. This annual event remains a key highlight for both avid golfers and supporters of our foundation's mission to fund high risk pediatric cancer research.
Event Details:

• Date: May 5th, 2024

• Location: Queen’s Harbour Yacht & Country Club. Jacksonville, Florida

• Time: Registration will kick off with 12:00PM registration, followed by a shotgun start at 1:00 PM. Bingo at 3:00pm. Dinner, Raffle and Awards at 6:00pm.

• Cost: $125 per golfer; $500 foursome

What to Expect:
Experience an outstanding day of golf on the renowned Queen’s Harbour Yacht and Country Club golf course. This event will feature exciting challenges and competitions suitable for all skill levels, alongside valuable networking opportunities with fellow golfers and supporters of The Joe DeWaele Memorial Foundation. The day will conclude with raffle prizes and an awards ceremony with dinner.

Early bird registration prices will be offered. Joe’s Jog for a Cure is back with our 2nd Annual 5K Race/Walk held on Saturday, November 5th at 8:30am. Please join us to remember Joe and celebrate his love for running. All proceeds will directly benefit the Mullighan Lab at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital—a research program focused on finding a cure and less toxic treatment for H-ALL - the rare subtype of leukemia that Joe fought for the last 9 months of his life. We are in need of Sponsors—Please consider sponsorship and/or share with anyone else who might want to help our cause.

Join JDMF Team as we give back to our amazing community and clean up our duval county beaches! JDMF is partnering with Ocean Conservancy, Keep Jacksonville Beautiful, and Beaches Sea Turtle Patrol on 9/17/22 from 7am-9am on 16th South in Jax Beach for this community event --we will located on the beach, look for tent at entry onto beach.

Volunteers are needed! Sign in stations with bags and gloves will be provided. Bring your own water and wear sturdy shoes. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

We will certify up to two service hours per individual upon request.

Good News—with the tremendous success of our first golf classic, we are now scheduled for our 2nd Annual Joe12 Golf Classic on May, 1 2022! We hope you can join us to remember Joe and help raise funds for leukemia research at St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. ALL REGISTRATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED—We are full to capacity for all activities.

Please join us for our 1st Annual Run/Walk event “Joe’s Jog for a Cure” — Joe showed us all what it means to be brave and strong and never once gave up. Joe loved being a part of his running club at school which is the inspiration behind the creation of this event. All proceeds will directly benefit the Henry Schueler Foundation--a research project that concentrates on the finding a cure for Hypodiploid Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (H-ALL). This is the rare subtype of pediatric cancer that Joe fought for 9 months. Please visit www.henryschueler.org for more information on their research initiatives.

We were given the very distinct honor of accepting an extremely generous donation to Joe’s memorial foundation. This was presented by his fifth grade graduating class at Jacksonville Beach Elementary. It was explained to me that the students voted on what to do with the funds and this is what they decided on. It’s fair to say we were beyond touched and very emotional. We continue to be so very honored by the love and support this community has shown us. You remind us over and over that Joe will not be forgotten. That is, perhaps, the best gift a bereaved family could hope for. With gratitude and love

On May 2, 2021 we will be hosting the Joe11 Golf Classic at Queen’s Harbour Yacht & Country Club in Jacksonville, Florida. We will gathering to remember our precious Joe and raise funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. St. Jude is a cause near and dear to our hearts. When all other doors closed for Joe in his treatment, they opened theirs. They offered us hope when we thought we had none. They never stopped fighting for Joe and making sure every treatment option available was presented to us. We hope you can join us as we share a special afternoon.
